Barack Obama feels that a punishment for illegal aliens is to force them to learn English and to pay a fine. Not exactly the tough on immigration stance that some of his supporters are looking for.
I received another memo from the John McCain campaign and figured I would post it. Hopefully there can be some good discussion about what McCain is saying.

Re: Credibility Gap: Barack Obama’s Vote To Tax Those Making As Little As $32,000
This year, Barack Obama returned to the United States Senate twice to vote in favor of a budget resolution which raises income tax rates by three percentage points for the 25, 28 and 33 percent tax brackets. This would mean a tax increase for those earning as little as $32,000.
While Barack Obama campaigns on a promise of no tax hikes for anyone but the rich, we once again find that his words are empty when it comes time to act. In both March and June, Barack Obama could have put the force of his vote behind his words. Instead, he decided that “rich” now means those making just $32,000 per year.
I was sent this memo from the John McCain campaign fro President, so I figured I would post it and see if it sparks any discussion. John McCain seems to be focusing his campaign on Barack Obamas lack of answeres and following the Democratic Party line.

Re: Country First Vs. Self-Serving Partisanship
Today, our country faces great challenges. But the problem is not a Republican Administration that has disappointed many or a Democratic Congress that cannot take action on the challenges facing our nation. The problem is that politicians in Washington are working for their own self-interest or that of their party.

This was David Letterman’s Top Ten List from Friday night. Top Ten things heard at Hillary Clintons campaign headquarters. Pretty funny. It will be interesting to see how long it takes for her to disappear. I have a feeling that she will do all she can to stay in the spotlight.
Here is John McCain’s first general election ad. In the ad he describes his war record and how he despises war and would make better foriegn policy decisions then his opponent.
The end of the road for Hillary Clinton’s 2008 Presidential hopes has finally arrived. No longer will she be competing against Barack Obama, splitting the Democratic Party, and casting a shadow over the party’s nomination. Or will she? Hillary Clinton can’t just fade into the background. She won over 18 million votes during the primary process. She is the first woman to get this far and be a major contender for their parties nomination. She is the wife of former President Bill Clinton. She is an outspoken, opinionated, controlling, and powerful figure in the Democratic Party. On Saturday she may be suspending her campaign, but that doesn’t mean she will no longer have a large role to play in the upcoming election for President in November.
There have been many articles written in the past few days examining what went wrong in Hillary Clinton’s campaign for the nomination. She went from forgone conclusion frontrunner to struggling to hold on, to disruptive force in the Democratic Party all in a matter of one year. Not all of Hillary’s collapse was her fault.

Barack Obama must have been reading my blog (not really I’m sure) and decided to leave the church he has been attending for 20 years. Apparently this is the right time. Not after his minister said that the government infected African Americans with AIDS, not after he calls the US the KKKA, but after a minister mocks Hillary Clinton. I am glad that Barack Obama made the right decision, but it looks a little bit like a political decision. Of course I’m sure that the church will be glad the spot light is no longer going to shine as bright on them anymore, but of course whatever the church says between now and the November election will still be reported and will haunt Obama.
Hillary Clinton yesterday beat Barack Obama in the Puerto Rico primary pretty substantially. She walks away with 38 delegates, but more importantly Barack received 17 delegates, putting him only 47 short of claiming the nomination officially.
Barack Obama once again has to face questions about the church that he has attended for 20 years. As the video below shows, church goers are standing and cheering as a pastor mocks Hillary Clinton. This does not seem like religion to me. My understanding is that the doctrine of separation of church and state was designed to prevent just this, to keep government and state comments out of church activities. Apparently Barack Obama doesn’t seem to mind going against the intentions of our founding fathers. He has defended his former pastor saying that he was not at the services when the comments were made. The problem that I see is that this is the atmosphere of the church that he chose to attend for 20 years. Either Barack Obama agrees with the comments and is now denying it, he is oblivious to his surroundings, which leads me to question why he even attended any church if he wasn’t listening, or he attended the church just to gain politically since it is a large active church with many potential voters. Either way Barack Obama is coming under fire again for what his ministers are saying. The church is supposed to lift you up and direct your path to high callings and service. In Barack’s case his church may be pulling him down and blocking his path to the White House.
One of the important lessons I learned early one in life from both my parents and school was that it’s important to think before you speak. People actually listen most of the time and if you just say whatever pops into your mind, there is a good chance that you may misspeak or just completely wrong. I wonder if the two Democratic candidates for President were ever taught this lesson. From some of their recent comments it seems like they may need a refresher course.
Democrat Barack Obama admitted on yesterday that he was wrong to say his uncle helped liberate the Nazis’ Auschwitz concentration camp after it was pointed out that Soviet troops freed the camp. Auschwitz is a pretty big deal, it is a significant event in WWII history, and isn’t something that people will just overlook or not comprehend.

While her husband Bill Clinton is out making comments about how she is the only democrat that can win the election this fall, Hillary isn’t helping herself by saying she can’t drop out since Robert Kennedy was killed in June. Obviously she was pointing out the fact that anything can happen between now and the convention and that nothing is written in stone. However with Ted Kennedy currently going through medical issues and just coming of Mike Huckabee’s comment a few week ago about Barack Obama being shot, this comment is extremely insensitive. I wonder if either of the Clinton’s have a filter or if they both just “shoot” off their mouths without thinking.
